College and Career Center- Students are encouraged to utilize the center beginning in 9^th grade for post-high school planning. We are here to provide the following services: counseling students in every aspect of the college process, guide students through self-analysis, career exploration, and educational goal setting, hosting on-campus college visits from participating schools, standardized testing, and college funding.

College Admissions Visits

College visits will be held virtually this fall. Students will be notified of visits via Totem Talk (sign up for Mr. Johns’ weekly newsletter on the main page of Boone's website) and through College and Career Instagram: search: boonecollege.career to follow.

Students must sign up for these visits through their SCOIR accounts on LaunchPad.

College Match Self-Survey for the College-Bound

What is it? SCOIR (pronounced 'score') is a free district provided resource to all OCPS students and families. It is designed to break down the college admissions process into manageable steps that help students and their families evaluate all the important questions one step, one day at a time. Students are able to search for colleges based on personal and academic interests, build their college list, explore campus communities to understand what type of environment will fit them best, and communicate with college admissions counselors. Utilizing the resources in SCOIR can help students better understand their unique talents, see how they translate to majors, and begin career exploration.

Why is it important? When applying to colleges and universities this then provides counselors the opportunity to upload all supplemental information needed for applications (transcripts, letters of recommendation, fee waivers, etc.)

How do students login to SCOIR: Students are able to access Scoir via single-sign on through the Scoir icon on Launchpad. An invitation is not required from a staff member.

Can parents and guardians use SCOIR? Yes, SCOIR gives parents and/or guardians a unique window into their student’s college journey through the SCOIR Parent Application. It also provides access to financial calculators and a view of colleges in your child’s “My Colleges” list. Parents and guardians must be invited by their student.
