Principal’s Message
A man with short brown hair smiles at the camera, wearing a white shirt and a black and red striped tie.

I want to begin this week's message by congratulating 10 incredible students who competed in Top Talent Live 2026. We are so proud of Benjamin McCormack, Caleb Cuevas, Jonah Quitos, Kaitlynn Peacock, Makayla Morton, Manuel Landaeta Calderon, Mia Basso, Paxton Burke, Sierra Adams, and Tessa Biuso! Not only did they qualify as finalists with their performance of "Hit the Road Jack", they also won the People's Choice award for having the highest number of individual voters! There was so much talent on the stage and they represented Boone well.

There are a lot of events taking place this week. Senior Common Final Exams are this week (Monday through Thursday), Tuesday is the first of two back-to-back evenings of our Spring Prism Band Concert, Thursday we will start distribution of yearbooks, and Friday we begin the month of May which is the final month of the semester and for the 2025-2026 school year. I encourage all of our Braves to finish this school year strong!

Finally, thank you so much to those of our parents & guardians who answered this year's OCPS Family Survey. The combined results from the 2026 survey will be of immense help with school improvement, a topic which we continually discuss in our monthly School Advisory Council (SAC) meetings. Please remember that our final SAC meeting of the year is coming up on Tuesday, May 5, and that all of our Boone community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Forever Brave,

Hector Maestre, Ed.D.
