  • William R. Boone High School opened its doors in 1952 when overcrowded Orlando High School was divided into two new schools - Boone and our sister school and rival Edgewater High School. Originally designed for students in grades 10-12, we now serve nearly 3,000 students in grades 9-12. The school year is based on two semesters divided into four 9-week grading periods and follows a traditional 7-period class schedule. Our campus is located just south of downtown Orlando and covers over twenty-five acres. In addition to classrooms, a state-of-the art media center, a performing arts suite, a visual arts building, an auditorium, a television production studio, a gymnasium, two cafeterias, and an athletic complex that seats four thousand spectators make up our campus.
