Message From Dr. Maestre

The second Sunday of May brings us to a special occasion – Mother’s Day. On behalf of the entire Boone High School community, I extend heartfelt greetings to all the mothers, grandmothers, guardians, and mother figures who nurture and support our students every day. Our dedicated teachers and staff depend heavily on support from home in order to provide all of our Braves with the quality education they deserve, and we have consistently found that moms and other mother figures are among our Braves' biggest cheerleaders. Moreover, they are there all your long also working to teach valuable lessons such as the importance of resilience, taking the long view, putting others first, compassion, and just being yourself. We are very grateful for this support every day.

I also want to take a moment to thank everyone who made Prom 2026 a huge success! Our students had a great time celebrating the end of the school year with a fun evening that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

We continue this week and next week with year-end assessments and will be operating from modified bell schedules. Many of our Braves will be taking US History and Biology End of Course exams this week and next week we begin Common Final Exams for underclassmen. You have done the work and your teachers have you prepared. Please remember to get your rest the evening before a test and do your best.

As always, thank you for reading!

Forever Brave,

Hector Maestre, Ed.D.
Principal

This year’s Super Scholars earned acceptances to universities across the country, from the University of Washington in Seattle to the University of Florida in Gainesville, and from the University of California, San Diego to Northeastern University.
