William R. Boone Orchestras, Director Stephen Cook

Boone High School is proud to offer 3 levels of orchestra classes:

Chamber Strings (6th period)

This is our top performance group, filled with our most talented string students at Boone High School. This group performs 4 concerts a year and travels to our county music performance assessment. Last year, this group received superior ratings at our district MPA.

Concert Orchestra (2nd period)

This is our intermediate group, filled with talented developing students. This class focuses on the fundamentals of string playing, music reading, and orchestral literature.

Beginning Orchestra (7th period)

This class is open to any student at Boone who has an interest in playing a string instrument. No previous music background is required!

After school:

Boone Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO)

This is Boone High Schools full orchestra. Our top string, percussion and wind players combine to perform 1-2 concerts a year.
