Academy of Health Science

The mission of the Boone High School AOHS is to prepare students for employment and postsecondary education in the health field. Classroom instruction is integrated with lab practice, clinical experiences, and job shadowing in selected health care settings.

Students entering ninth or tenth grade are eligible to apply for the program. Those students selected for the academy must complete a three or four-year program of study, including career and academic components. All students are expected to complete patient care clinicals or an externship in their senior year, depending on their career focus.
